The top five banks in this list have a combined residential portfolio volume of more than $900 billion at the end of the first quarter of 2023. While many banks saw a small increase in volume between Q4 and Q1, one achieved significant growth with an increase of 287.75%.

The data in this ranking came from National Mortgage News' MortgageStats site, which pulls information from quarterly call reports available from the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council.
