The Post Office for Intermediaries brand is closing for new business next month, with all broker lending to fall under the Bank of Ireland for Intermediaries.

The change will take place on Friday July 9, with no new cases accepted after that, although Post Office says it will continue to process any cases in the pipeline as normal.

It says that service for existing Post Office borrowers will not be affected.

Bank of Ireland for Intermediaries says the move will strengthen its brand in the broker market.

It will be focusing on three core areas of business where it believes it can “add most value”:

  • Bespoke – complex case underwriting
  • Buy-to-let
  • High LTV

Any mortgages that have been offered but have not yet completed will be processed as normal.

The standard offer validity period of six months will apply.
