Conveyancing firm ONP Group says it has begun integrating its systems with chatbox ChatGPT “to remove administration tasks” for case managers.

The legal business adds that it will use ChatGPT’s technology to automate and speed up document analysis in conveyancing and remortgaging.

It points out the move will allow case managers “to prioritise more value-adding work, like personalised client assistance and communication” to boost customer service.

Launched in November last year, the artificial intelligence software from US developer OpenAI, gives adaptive, human-like responses to questions, and is able to write stories and engage in conversation. The chatbox can also challenge incorrect premises and reject inappropriate requests.

ONP Group chief technology officer Andrew Taylor says: “Investing in modern technology, such as ChatGPT, is a key part of our strategy. To remove administration tasks for our case managers, freeing up time to devote to our partners and their clients.

“This will allow us to set a new standard in the legal sector.”

Stockport-based ONP Group – which is made up of O’Neill Patient Solicitors, Grindeys, and Cavendish Legal Group – currently completes more than 100,000 transactions a year.
