Sandoway Discovery Center is in a historic 1936 beachfront home in Delray Beach. The original structure is on the National Register of Historic Places. It is now preserved as a unique Nature Center now and is home to native plants, live animals, and a world-class shell collection. The Center offers a glimpse into South Florida's fragile marine and freshwater environments through educational exhibits and programs.

Sandoway is listed in the master site file Inventory of Historic Structures by the Florida Department of State and is also listed in the City of Delray Beach’s Local Register of Historic Places. The restoration work done by the Friends of Sandoway House in 1997-98 met the standards prescribed for the rehabilitation of a historic structure as called for by the United States Secretary of the Interior. Sandoway provides cultural significance as it exemplifies the historical, political, economic, and social trends reflected in Delray Beach during the Great Depression.

The discovery center offers educational programs to the public at Sandoway Discovery Center. Sandoway offers curricula including shark, alligator, and stingray feedings. Additionally, they offer field trip and outreach programs, animal meet and greets. Other dedicated events such as beach clean-ups and observance events for Earth Day.

Sandoway Discovery Center is open Tuesdays – Saturdays. Hours of operation are as follows: Mondays – Saturday 10:00 am – 4:00 pm and Sundays from 12:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Admission is $6 per person ages three and up.

All visitors over the age of 3 years must wear a mask properly.
