He will not stand as director at the group’s annual general meeting on 21 October, after first being appointed to the role in 2015.

The body says that since he took up his post its legal member practice members has jumped by 50%, while affiliate membership has more than doubled.

It adds: “Lloyd has played a key role over the years in helping the Conveyancing Association provide leadership and best practice guidance for its membership as well as in helping to guide Conveyancing Association strategy and policy, along with fellow policy and strategy board members.”

Davies is retiring from his voluntary role to concentrate on personal, business and charity commitments.

He is the founder and managing director of Convey Law and the Conveyancing Academy and chairman of the Conveyancing Foundation, which raises hundreds of thousands of pounds for charity.

Conveyancing Association non-executive chair Nicky Heathcote says: Lloyd has been pivotal in the growth of the Conveyancing Association, not just in terms of increasing our membership base, both legal practice members and affiliates, but also with regards to the high esteem the association is now held in and the influence it holds.

“His work in a practical leadership role when helping Conveyancing Association members through the pandemic in 2020 was inspirational and very important for our membership during a time of real crisis.”

Davis adds: “My family is of paramount importance to me and always has been. After the passing of my son Maxwell three years ago the charity that we have established in his name – the Mindstep Foundation – continues to go from strength to strength.

“Coupled with the Conveyancing Foundation Charity Lotto and ‘Be Kind We Care’ initiatives my time has been stretched in recent years and so I felt that the time was right to stand down from my voluntary directorial role with the CA.

“Our training company, the Conveyancing Academy, as well as our Convey365 IT case management companies are now in full swing and so I also didn’t want to compromise my directorship while promoting the wonderful conveyancing products we have to offer over the coming years.”
