Kieran has stepped up to the role after 7 months at Mortgage Engine as Software Engineering Manager, where he helped build the fintech firm’s in-house tech teams and enhance the speed and efficiency of its API technology. He joined Mortgage Engine from Shawbrook Bank, where he was Head of Innovation and Delivery, and has more than 10 years working in technology and digital transformation.

As CTO, Kieran will lead Mortgage Engine’s technology teams to integrate more lenders with its API platform and connect new distributors, enabling intermediaries to access multi-DIPs (decisions in principle) through a single application.

Kieran Park, CTO at Mortgage Engine said:

“We have had a market shift in recent years towards tech adoption, as financial firms have started to understand and appreciate how technology can improve their service offering. This has been accelerated during the coronavirus crisis as businesses have needed to adapt to meet new challenges and models of working.

“As technology has developed in recent years, so have the delivery concepts.  It has become much easier to harness technology by implementing small changes quickly, at lower cost and crucially, with less risk. This enables more enterprises to move in the right direction: improving the efficiency of their systems and empowering their colleagues to perform more specialist, value add roles.

“The mortgage market is still operating in a time of crisis. We are working to streamline the application process and enable brokers to spend more time advising customers, generating new business and guiding their teams on the road to recovery.”

Mortgage Engine, led by digital transformation specialist Cloë Atkinson, has grown its team to 30 members since its launch in November 2019.

Cloë Atkinson, managing director at Mortgage Engine said:

“Kieran has unrivalled expertise in this area and we’re delighted to have him on board as CTO. He will play a vital role in integrating more lenders with our API platform, connecting new intermediary partners and working to drive efficiency in the mortgage application process.”

Mortgage Engine brought the first ever multi-DIP proposition to the UK mortgage market in November 2019, allowing mortgage intermediaries to source DIPs from multiple lenders simultaneously without needing to re-key customer data during the application process.
