OneFamily has appointed Alison Davies to its board as a non-executive director.

Davies worked at Skipton Building Society for almost eight years, leaving at interim head of digital, where she oversaw its digital strategy and helped develop its online customer services. She left the business last April.

Prior to this, she held executive positions at first direct and HSBC in a 30-year career in retail and mutual financial services.

The mutual says Davies joins the group at a period of growth for the group, which bought Peterborough-based insurance company Beagle Street from BGL Insurance for an undisclosed sum in October. It also set up a new Leeds office earlier this month.

OneFamily chief executive Teddy Nyahasha says: “As well as her commitment to improving the lives of others, Alison brings with her years of experience from across the financial sector with specific emphasis on digital strategy.”

Davies adds: “As an organisation with such a strong social purpose and a great track record of supporting its customers, I’m looking forward to being part of what it aims to achieve over the coming months.

“This is a pivotal moment to be joining the team.”
