"Low cost" careers

Higher education has come under a lot of scrutiny in recent years, due to the exorbitant costs to earn a four-year degree. For many universities, the starting point for an undergraduate degree is now $100,000. Fortunately there are other lower cost ways to break into a good-paying profession.

One of them is a career in real estate. For only a few hundred dollars and a few weeks of training, you can obtain your license and launch your real estate career. Of course, your real training begins after you obtain your license, when you learn how to grow a healthy and sustainable business that's built to last for the long run.

Another low cost option is an apprenticeship in the trades, healthcare, information technology, or another industry. With an apprenticeship, you have the unique opportunity to earn a living wage as you learn a new craft. The state of Wisconsin has many apprenticeship opportunities available right now, with good companies that are in need of good people.

Stay tuned for more info. We'll have much more to share about apprenticeship programs in the coming week.
