United Technologies Center for Intelligent Building - Palm Beach Gardens

United Technologies (UTC) opened a showcase campus over a year ago that has already brought 380 new jobs to Palm Beach Gardens. The impressive 224,000 square-foot, glass-enclosed building is a museum-like designed facility showcasing the best new technology from around the world that is designed to reduce energy use in big buildings.

The Carrier Center for Intelligent Buildings is a first-of-its-kind technology, innovation and collaboration center showcasing Carrier products and integrated systems. The building, located in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, features solutions and interactive displays from our brands, bringing to life all the manners in which a building can interact and make it possible around the world.

This display includes glass-encased, energy-efficient elevators and escalators, ductless air conditioning, apps for smart phones, and AutomatedLogic.  AutomatedLogic is an automation system that links together all building systems. The devices on display are designed to reduce energy use by 60%, water use by 36%, carbon dioxide by 60%, and outside water by 100%, according to United Technologies.

The UTC Center for Intelligent Buildings has already brought nearly 400 jobs to Palm Beach Gardens and promises to hire 100 more people over the next few years with annual salaries averaging $85,000-$91,000. The center expects to host 5,800 visitors this year and estimates more than $600 million economic impact.
