It has been certified by Best Companies, which accredits organisations, as ‘One to Watch’. The award endorsed Target as demonstrating ‘good’ levels of employee engagement, despite the current unprecedented circumstances.

The financial services technology and business process outsource provider employs over 1,200 staff and provides services for a number of the UK’s high street banks, as well as central and local government bodies.

During the pandemic, Target said it was quick to respond to configure its IT estate and enable home working.

Since then it has supported employees with a number of wellbeing initiatives, including launching a variety of webinars to help leaders adapt to virtual ways of working and provide tools to help with the different approach.

Matt Davies, HR Director, said: “Our people are firmly at the centre of our culture and that’s why we have high engagement and retention. Over recent years we have made a huge amount of progress, developing our people-centric approach.

“We are delighted that this progress has been acknowledged and are thrilled to be in the ‘Ones to Watch’ category. We’re proud of our progress and excited about things to come!”

Best Companies has over 20 years’ experience in helping organisations measure and improve employee engagement using a robust methodology, with their accreditation standard certifying excellence in the workplace since 2006.

Jonathan Austin, founder and CEO of Best Companies, said: “Congratulations to Target Group on this significant achievement.

“This award recognises that they have put their employees first during these incredibly challenging times and have continued to be well led and well managed throughout this pandemic”.
