Palm Beach is known for its famous residents and million-dollar ocean front mansion, but the town is also known for its history, legendary resorts, high-end shopping, and luxury dining. The Island earned its reputation during the Gilded Age when Henry Flagler built a mansion for his wife as a wedding present. 

Flagler was an American Industrialist, founder of Standard Oil, and is known for developing Florida’s East Coast along with John D. Rockefeller. Flagler is responsible for making Palm Beach, America’s first resort destination. His home, formally known as Whitehall is now dedicated to his history and the history of Palm Beach and is open to the public for tours. The Flagler Museum is open all year, Tuesday through Sunday. On the island, Worth Avenue is considered one of the island’s most iconic streets. The famous street is known for its high-end shopping and premier dining at some of the best restaurants and shops in the world. 

Low story buildings and palm trees line the street where dozens of shops and restaurants are located. The buildings and architecture were designed by Addison Mizner in the 1920’s. Mizner incorporated little courtyards, vias, and esplanades into the iconic street.
