Rightmove is launching an AI tool to allow home movers to compare multiple properties side by side.
The Comparison Assistant will allow users to ask questions about individual homes, their features and nearby amenities.
Home movers will be able to compare properties against their own priorities, including proximity to supermarkets, suitability for hybrid working, nearby schools and access to transport links.
Example questions include: “Which home would be best for hybrid working?”, “Which property has the most family-friendly features?” and “Compare the outdoor space across these homes”.
The feature draws on information supplied by sales and letting agents in property listings, Rightmove’s property data, Google Maps, Experian data on schools and Land Registry information to generate responses.
Rightmove has also launched an AI-powered Search Assistant, introduced through the homepage search bar in February, and the Evaluation Assistant, which launched within property listings in July.
The company said early engagement data suggests its AI-powered search tools are encouraging users to explore properties more extensively.
In the period to 30 June, users of the Ask Rightmove Search Assistant spent 40% longer on the platform, saved more than twice as many properties and sent around twice as many leads to agents compared with those who did not use the feature.
Rightmove said the figures suggest the tools are helping home movers investigate their options in greater depth and progress through their search with more confidence.
Tarah Lourens, chief technology and operations officer at Rightmove, said: “Rightmove is innovating across the property search journey. Our latest AI-powered development helps movers better understand the differences between properties and identify the homes that best fit their needs, making the search process more informed and efficient.
“At the same time, it helps our partners bring property listings to life by making key features more discoverable and meaningful to potential buyers and renters.”
