Paradigm Mortgage Services has added several new test modules to its continuing professional development courses that cover bribery, money laundering and whistleblowing.

The Birmingham-based mortgage club launched the Test Zone last year to help advisers meet their annual CPD and training requirements.

The latest module is on anti-bribery and whistleblowing and covers the definition of bribery, an individual’s obligations under the Bribery Act and what action a firm should take to prevent bribery within their business.

Paradigm says the whistleblowing part of the course helps firms understand what whistleblowing is, how to report wrongdoing and how whistleblowing affects employees.

It adds other new modules include courses on understanding European general data protection regulation obligations, money laundering responsibilities administrators and advisers, and another course for the money laundering reporting officer.

Paradigm says these courses include “between 30 and 45 minutes of CPD per test”.

At the end of the module advisors, or staff members, are “directed to a multiple-choice test to confirm their understanding of the material. If they pass, they are provided with a CPD certificate and all activity is logged within the CPD academy”.

Paradigm Mortgage Services mortgage technical director Christine Newell says: “These latest modules on Anti-Bribery, Whistleblowing and GDPR, will add further value in addition to the existing topics, and will allow users to study the material and test their knowledge immediately.”

Newell adds: “The CPD academy also allows advisers to track all CPD activity they have completed throughout the course of the year, which enables them to ensure they’re meeting their minimum requirements.

“We know this is extremely valuable to our users who have logged almost 10,000 hours’ worth of activity so far.”
