The move, being made in a bid to lower volumes and to get service levels back on track, will be effective from tomorrow (Wednesday 15 July).

It is not clear how long the products will remain off the shelf, but NatWest said it was a temporary measure it and would be monitoring the situation closely so it could look to reintroduce the deals as soon as possible.

Mark Bullard, head of sales, at NatWest Intermediary Solutions said: “To ensure we meet our brokers’ expectations in relation to the service we provide to them and their clients, together with the resource required to support our existing customers with their payment holiday requests, we’ve taken the decision to temporarily withdraw our Residential Exclusive products.”

He confirmed brokers would continue to have access to its standard range of products.

The range includes remortgages and purchase products with two and five-year fixed rates. NatWest said intermediaries would still be able to submit applications online for existing deals up to 10.30pm today (Tuesday 14 July).
