The bank, which launched its bespoke offering in 2019, provided £259m in the space in the first half of 2021.

It says bespoke products now account for 21% of new mortgage lending at the bank and that it has implemented a strategy to focus on niche areas, including buy-to-let and high loan-to-value products.

The bank also confirmed that it will launch more green initiatives by the end of 2021, having introduced its first green BTL product earlier this year.

Bank of Ireland UK director of home buying and ownership George Higginson says: “Our results for the first six months of 2021 show our strategy is the right one for our business, as we successfully pivot towards mortgage segments where we can add most value to our brokers and partners.

We’re continuing to have great success with our Bespoke proposition and the positive feedback we receive from the broker community confirms our individual underwriting approach is adding real value.”
