LiveMore has partnered with online divorce service Amicable to cater for “the emotional and financial stress” involved in ending a marriage.
The later life lender, which focuses on those aged 50 to 90-plus, operates by examining the credit history, income, pensions and investments of borrowers.
The firms say they plan to ensure that “divorcees should be given every opportunity to rebuild their lives after separating from their spouses, through financial, emotional and social support”.
The partnership was launched today, 11 January, on The Divorce Podcast, which explores family issues around divorce, break-ups and co-parenting, which is hosted by Amicable co-founder Kate Daly.
Daly says: “LiveMore understands the financial needs of over the 50s, and offers a fair and personalised service to a demographic whose needs are often neglected.”
LiveMore chief executive Leon Diamond adds: “We are seeing more divorcees wanting to access mortgage finance so our new partnership with Amicable will make it a little easier for people in this situation.
“Divorce is a stressful time and we want to ensure the monetary and emotional challenges faced by those aged 50 to 90-plus are addressed and overcome.”
In 2021, there were 113,505 divorces granted in England and Wales, a 9.6% increase compared with 2020 when there were 103,592 divorces, according to the Office for National Statistics.
