The Loggerhead Marinelife Center hosts a weekly Self-Guided Beach Clean Up on Saturday mornings for a chance for the public to help keep our beautiful beaches clean for us and the sea turtles.

Now more than ever the center needs our help. Sea Turtle Nesting Season begins in early March and goes until the end of October. During the seven months span, the Loggerhead Marinelife Center staff monitor the 9.5 miles of beach between the northern Palm Beach County line and the John D MacArthur Beach State Park. This area is one of the most populated sea turtle nesting spots in the world. During this time thousands of sea turtles lay their eggs on the beach.

The Self-Guided Beach Clean Up is every Saturday during the month of June beginning at 8:30 am to 11 am. Those that wish to participate can stop by the sorting station at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center to pick up supplies before heading over to the beach to help. Once the bucket is full, bring the bucket back to the sorting station.

The Town of Jupiter recently has installed Clean Up Stations at local parks for the public to help keep Jupiter free of debris and litter. The project is part of Jupiter’s partnership with The Beach Bucket Foundation whose mission is to bring awareness and community involvement to help keep our local beaches, towns, and cities clean. 

Waterfront Properties has joined the cause and has sponsored four clean up buckets at four local parks in Jupiter, Juno Beach, and Tequesta. Those who wish to help can simply grab a bucket from the clean up station and help pick up litter and debris along the way. Once the bucket is full return the bucket back to the cleaning station and place the trash in the trash area. The Waterfront Properties clean up buckets are located at The Civic Center in Jupiter, Carlin Park in Jupiter, Coral Cove Park in Tequesta, and Ocean Cay Park in Juno Beach.
