Atom is recruiting 30 new staff for a variety of positions including two roles in its mortgage team.
Following its relocation from Durham to Newcastle, the bank is seeking two key hires for its residential and commercial lending arms.
The commercial mortgage team is looking for a delivery lead who can help make further improvements in processing times.
The residential team is looking for an associate pricing and trade manager to focus on cost strategy and competition.
Among the 30 roles Atom is looking to fill, the lender also has openings within engineering, data, operations and customer support teams.
The bank says it will be continuing to support local initiatives and social mobility in the region through its early careers programme.
It includes the Atom Futures Fund, which provides financial support to students from low-income backgrounds and those in care, helping them with university applications and transitions.
Atom’s headquarters recently moved to The Pattern Shop, a Grade-II listed building, formerly occupied by Robert Stephenson & Co, a pioneer of the industrial revolution.
The building has been renovated to create a low-carbon office space.
Atom chief executive Mark Mullen says: “Our move to the Pattern Shop isn’t just a change of address; it’s a bold statement about our future and our belief in the North East.
“We’re investing in a space that celebrates our region’s industrial past while providing a modern, flexible, and inspiring home for our people.
“This new chapter will help us attract top talent and continue to challenge the status quo, proving that a truly innovative and profitable business can thrive right here in the North East.”
