The Loggerhead Marinelife Center in Juno Beach is busy planning and adding special events to their calendar.  Everyday during the month of August, the sea turtle research and rehabilitation center is hosting their Sunrise Nest Excavation.

The Sunrise Nest Excavation program is a chance for the center to give the public an opportunity to see inside the center’s research department. The Loggerhead Marinelife Center has gotten permission from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission to led guest down to the beach every morning to discuss the hatching and nesting process of sea turtles.

The beaches of Juno Beach are monitored by the Loggerhead Marinelife Center during Sea Turtle Nesting season which runs from March to the end of October. Every year, thousands of sea turtles lay their nests on the beach in our area. Juno Beach is considered one of the most populated and popular spots for sea turtles to build their nests.

The reoccurring Sunrise Nest Excavation are every morning starting at 7 am to 9 am. Guests are asked to register, and it costs $18 dollars per person and $16 dollars per LMC members. All individuals are required to register online prior to the event. Children must be 8 years old or older to attend and all participants must be able to walk up to a half a mile.
