The What the Punk Fest goal is to provide secure spaces, with dance and music being the common denominator, to as many people as possible regardless of sexuality, gender, age, race, or experience level. Concluding the year's outreach, What the Punk Fest weekend, is scheduled for October 1-3, 2020.

This is Florida’s 1st and only International Gay Urban Dance Festival. What the PUNK is a rare and bona fide resource for education and preservation of urban dance cultures born in the 60s, the 70s, 80s, and today. It explores how they are done, and how to teach them. Guest instructors and performers are innovators of their craft. It serves as once-in-a-lifetime access to these dance icons, to learn from them firsthand, and express their personal growth in partnership with Florida Atlantic University, General Provision Fort Lauderdale, Waterloo Miami, and Compass Gay and Lesbian Center.

In less than 4 years, the organization has contracted over 15 LGBT globally acclaimed artists and performers. They have also offered an affordable payment plan option to over eighty participants based on mitigating circumstances and certified fifteen teachers, of which 3 were awarded scholarships for work/study/research opportunities.

Southeast Florida’s International What The Punk Festival, will be held September 30 -October 2, 2022, in the up-and-coming FAT Village Arts District in sunny Fort Lauderdale and surrounding areas. The Palm Coast provides an idyllic setting for this one-of-a-kind celebration of history, evolution, and PRIDE. What the PUNK offers thousands of music and dance lovers around the globe an opportunity to convene for Florida’s first and only international dance festival dedicated to preserving underground club/street cultures born from the LGBTQ+ community. All are part of our LGBT+ Safe Space Project.
