Cloud-based mortgage software provider Finova has appointed David Espley as chief technology officer (CTO).
Espley has more than 20 years’ experience in technology and product development across the financial services, energy and legal sectors.
He joins from Kaluza, a firm that provides AI-driven platforms for energy suppliers.
In this previous role, he also held the position of CTO, leading a team of 400 staff across the UK, Europe, North America and Australia.
Prior to this he was CTO at pensions and investments firm Hargreaves Lansdown and before that at legal services provider LexisNexis, where he managed a global budget of more than £45m.
At Finova, he will be leading the company’s technology strategy, using AI and cloud-based tools to improve customer experience.
It comes after Finova appointed Gareth Richardson as chief executive in July.
Espley says: “I’m delighted to be joining Finova at such a pivotal time in its journey.
“The mortgage and savings industry is at an inflection point, where technology can truly transform the way lenders and brokers serve their customers.
“My focus will be on helping Finova’s clients achieve better outcomes by harnessing the power of AI, cloud and modern product delivery – all while ensuring resilience, speed and scalability.”
Chief executive Gareth Richardson says: “David brings an outstanding track record of leading technology teams in complex, regulated industries and scaling digital platforms for millions of users worldwide.
“His appointment strengthens our leadership team and underlines our ambition to be the technology partner of choice for lenders and brokers across the UK.
“I look forward to working with David as we continue to build on Finova’s strong market position and deliver even greater value to our clients.”
