The busiest day of the year for people moving home is set to be Friday August 30, new analysis by Home Owners Alliance has found.
The group has been tracking the data for 12 years based on the number of people searching for quotes from removal companies for particular dates.
It estimates that 20,207 moves will take place on that date.
August has been the busiest month for home moves for as long as HOA has been monitoring the figures and it predicts there will be more than 220,000 moves this month.
January and February are the quietest months for movers.
HOA chief executive Paula Higgins says: “We were a little surprised to find that this year, we think homeowners are still favouring the end of August weekend to move, despite it not being a Bank Holiday this year.”
