An SPV or trust mortgage is a residential mortgage where the property is held by a UK or offshore company, bare trust, discretionary trust or offshore trust rather than the borrower personally. The lender list narrows mostly to private banks. Foreign nationals, non-doms and HNW families use these vehicles for tax planning, privacy or family asset protection.
