The Green Finance Institute (GFI) has appointed Chloe Timperley as green mortgage campaign lead.
Previously, Timperley worked as a senior policy adviser at The Association of Mortgage Intermediaries, where she led the cross-industry Green Mortgage Advice Initiative.
She has prior experience in regulatory policy and financial planning and has worked across a range of policy areas including environmental, social and governance (ESG), the Financial Conduct Authority’s Consumer Duty regime and the later life market.
In her new role, Timperley will work with partners from across the sector to catalyse growth in the UK green mortgage market and drive forward the GFI’s mission to decarbonise the built environment.
She will help to develop the GFI-launched ‘Certificate in Green Mortgages’, which provides training on the real-economy opportunities provided by green finance solutions.
The certificate, launched in April this year, is designed to help educate mortgage professionals to understand, define and sell green mortgage products.
Her new role will sit within the built environment programme team.
Commenting on her role, Timperley says: “The GFI has done a fantastic job of driving the mortgage market toward more green lending for UK homeowners.”
“The mortgage industry has a key role to play in decarbonising the UK housing stock, and I’m thrilled to carry this work forward as Green Mortgage Campaign Lead, as we work to decarbonise the built environment at pace and scale.”
