The Busch Wildlife Sanctuary is beginning a new chapter. The sanctuary located in Jupiter has helped to save almost 6,000 injured, sick, or orphaned wildlife patients in 2020 and the sanctuary is about to embark on an even bigger journey.

The Busch Wildlife Sanctuary was founded in 1983 and has been responsible for recusing, rehabilitation, and releasing thousands of animals back into the wild since opening. The sanctuary also helps to provide vital environmental education through their events and classes for South Floridians and visitors each year.

The Busch Wildlife Sanctuary has recently purchased land further west on Indiantown Road to develop a larger campus to help more wildlife and offer more educational programs for visitors. Currently the sanctuary is located on 11 acres and has been leasing the land from the Loxahatchee River Environmental Control District since 1997. The sanctuary has remodeled and expanded over the past few years but is now time to expand even further.

Busch Wildlife Sanctuary has shared on their social media pages last week that they have broken ground on the construction of their new facility and will be taking the public along the way with videos and updates on the construction project.  The sanctuary is moving 6 miles west on Indiantown Road and the new center is expected to open in the spring of 2022.

The sanctuary is currently still open to visitors at their current location in Jupiter and will remain open at this location until the move next year.
