This New Bend Oregon Indian Food Cart Does Not Disappoint!

The new Indian food cart in town does NOT disappoint! Anita’s Kitchen Gourmet Indian Food just recently opened during the thick of the pandemic, and we’re so happy it did! Antia’s does a great job of bringing Indian classic cuisine to Bend. We found the flavors to be on point, service was super fast, and the customer service was exceptional.

From the medium size food menu we decided to try a little bit of everything-and why not? Round one consisted of Samosas; a fried pastry filled with potatoes, onions, and a whole ton of spices. The flavor was on point and it was paired with a mint cilantro chutney dipping sauce which was quite the show stealer..

Round two consisted of the classic Butter Chicken, and Palak Paneer; for our meat lovers and our veg lovers. First off, the chicken in the butter chicken was perfectly prepared. Moist, tender, and paired well with the butter cream sauce- please be warned* this dish does have a nice heat kick in the finish (disclaimer: nice in my opinion will likely be “HOT” in other people’s opinion). The palak Paneer used firm tofu which held up very well in the Popeye level amount of spinach. Classic paneer flavors were there and we felt that the firm tofu added a nice contrast to the base paste.

And finally naan. You can’t have Indian food without The Naan and Anita’s is no exception. We opted for garlic naan which was perfectly prepared and a great dipping option to our round two entrée choices.

All in all, Anita’s is a great option to satisfy your Indian food needs. We are excited to go back and explore more of their chana (chickpea) options. They will be closed September 10th-18th for a much needed vacation, but we will be there ready to try more delicious food when they are back.
