Mortgage Advice Bureau (MAB) has appointed Alan Richardson as head of protection excellence.

Richardson joins from LifeSearch where he worked for 12 years.

In his new role, Richardson will report to MAB protection proposition director Andy Walton.

He will play a key role in shaping and delivering MAB’s protection proposition.

His responsibilities include assisting in the development of strategies, plans, and tactics and will work closely with advisers to help embed best practice, improve customer outcomes and support protection advice.

Commenting on the appointment, Walton says: “Protection advice is more important than ever, and Alan’s experience and focus on quality and Consumer Duty will be instrumental in helping us continue to lead the market.”
