You're ready to buy a condo, and you believe you may have found the one. But wait, before you go ahead and ask your agent to draft your offer, you would be wise to pause and ask these 3 important questions.

Three questions to ask before buying a condo
1) How well does the condo meet your lifestyle needs? When it comes to the size of your household, your work commute, and your entertainment and recreation activities -- will the condo meet your needs three years from now? We recommend planning to stay in your condo for at least 3 years, so you'll have an opportunity to recoup a nice return on your investment when it's time to sell.
2) Are there any large projects or pending assessments planned for the association? Some Madison area condo associations are currently in fundraising mode to address future repairs and maintenance needs. Learning about any future projects or assessments will help you adequately plan for your budget in the years ahead.
3) What do the meeting minutes say? The association meeting minutes can provide a wealth of insight into the current business and future plans that are on the agenda for the association. If at all possible, we recommend reading the recent meeting minutes before submitting your offer.
