The pair are just two of eleven members of staff at Norton Finance that are celebrating 20 years or more at the independent finance broker.

Bugdol joined Norton Finance in 2001 as a trainee financial underwriter before progressing to mortgage arranger, then team leader, before being promoted to team manager of the main mortgage department.

Pickup joined Norton Finance from Yorkshire Bank and worked in a number of departments before settling in the accounts department. During her time at Norton Finance she trained to become a fully qualified accountant and was subsequently promoted to the position of Norton Group financial controller, where she has worked for the past five years.

For those looking to start a career in finance Bugdol said: “My one piece of advice for anyone looking to start a career in the financial services industry is to embrace change.

“My career has seen numerous changes both internally and externally including a recession, Brexit and COVID-19 to name a few.

“All of these changes have pushed me to overcome obstacles that at the time seemed impossible.

“The outcome of this is a more confident, resourceful and open-minded me, with an appreciation of dedicated, hardworking team members and gratitude for an employer who has given me the opportunity to continue to do a job that I enjoy!”

Pickup also has some advice to offer: “Loyalty is a two-way street, if you find an employer who is willing to invest in your future, as Norton Finance has for me, show them your appreciation with hard work and commitment.”

On the large number of long service awards this year Paul Stringer, director of the Norton Finance Group, added: “We are thrilled to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our staff that have been with us for 20 years or more, especially after such a difficult year.

“Amy and Lisa’s long service awards are testament to their loyalty, enthusiasm and commitment to the company and their roles. They have accomplished a lot during their time at Norton Finance which will hopefully inspire others.”
