Halifax Intermediaries has made changes across home mover and first-time buyer, remortgage and product transfer and further advance ranges, effective tomorrow (3 November).
Rates will be cut by up to 0.22% on two-, three- and five-year fixed remortgage products and by 0.11% on two-year remortgage trackers.
Remortgage product complete by and end dates have been extended.
Elsewhere, product transfer and further advance rates have been lowered by 0.22% on two- and five-year fixed products, while two-year tracker prices have been reduced by 0.11%.
Products across home mover and first-time buyer, remortgage and product transfer and further advance ranges have had complete by and end dates have been extended.
Commenting on the changes, Trinity Financial product and communications director Aaron Strutt says: “I am pretty sure Halifax pulled its 3.99% two-year tracker rate, but it is offering it again. It has a 3.99% two-year tracker, which is available to home buyers with a 40% deposit, and it has a £1,499 fee.”
“Barclays still has a 3.99% base rate tracker from Premier customer earning over £75,000 with a £999 fee and a 40% deposit requirement. It will be interesting to see what the Bank of England’s MPC does on Thursday. Even if the base rate does go up, the best trackers will still undercut fixed rates by quite a big margin.”
“Halifax has the cheapest two-year fix at 4.78% and the lowest five-year fix also at 4.78% for its premier current account holders.”
“Both rates have a £999 fee and borrowers need a 40% deposit to qualify. There are still some lenders offering sub-5% fixes but there are not that many to choose from.”
Earlier today Barclays confirmed rate reductions on a selection of products across residential purchase, remortgage.
