The cold weather in Palm Beach County may be out of the ordinary, but it presents a great opportunity to spot manatees at Manatee Lagoon. Mantatee Lagoon is a fun and engaging family-friendly attraction. It features interactive, entertaining exhibits that will spike your curiosity about the environment of the Lake Worth Lagoon and the wonderful world of manatees.

More than thirty manatees were witnessed at the lagoon in West Palm Beach Monday morning. The manatees come down upon the Manatee Lagoon exhibit thanks to the warm water coming from the nearby Florida Power & Light power plant. The power plant remains cool by filtering in water from the waterway, the cool water is heated by the power plant. The overflow then exits the plant and draws the manatees into the lagoon to help keep them warm.

Manatee season in Florida runs until March 31, 2023. There may be a few more chances to see these animals in the coming months.
