Alexander Hall managing director Dominic Scott will step down from his role at the mortgage broker next month.

“I’ve decided to exit the business on 15 July. I will be handing over the managing director reins to the very capable Tom Davies,” says Scott in a LinkedIn post today.

Davies has been the sales director at the broker firm since May 2015, and has worked for the business for almost 16 years.

Scott leaves his post after just over seven years as managing director, taking up the top job in April 2015. He previously spent three years as sales director at the business.

Scott says he is exiting his post at the 25-year-old broker firm leaving it “in the best shape it’s ever been”.

During his time at the head of the business he says sales have grown by 172%, earnings jumped 700%, and its market share lifted by 42% while overseeing more than £14bn of lending.

The firm’s services cover mortgage advice for first-time buyers as well as buy-to-let, remortgage, later life and offshore clients.

Before joining Alexander Hall, Scott worked for London estate agent Foxtons for almost eight years. He joined the business as a business development manager in July 2004, before spending almost five years as operations director, leaving in April 2012.

Alexander Hall has been a part of Foxtons since the 1990s. Last July the estate agent confirmed it was considering selling the broker business, but it still remains part of the estate agent founded in 1981 by Jon Hunt.
