This year is the 30th Anniversary Race for the Cure in South Florida! The Komen Race for the Cure is a wonderful, event-filled celebration full of inspiration and hope. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic we cannot meet in person this year. Race for the Cure invites you to join in the mission to “save lives by meeting the most critical needs in our community and funding research breakthroughs for the cures” by participating in the virtual program on Race Day. 

Instead of gathering on Flagler Drive, at the Meyer Amphitheater in West Palm Beach, this year the race will gather virtually. This important annual event raises significant funds for the breast cancer movement, thanks to supporters and survivors around the world who step up and act by fundraising for the cause.  You can join with your team and walk in your favorite park, run in your neighborhood or even bike for the cause.

There is a 30th Anniversary Race for the Cure in South Florida Facebook group where you can share ideas about your virtual experience and connect with others while we respect social distancing. On the morning of the event participants will come together virtually for the 30th Annual Warrior ceremony which is one of the most moving and healing parts of the Race for the Cure. Watch on Facebook and see WPTV News Channel 5 anchors Michael Williams and Kelley Dunn unite us all together in a powerful and uplifting ceremony. Afterwards everyone is encouraged to “walk together but apart” taking steps to end this disease by funding Komen’s groundbreaking research, advocacy, and direct patient services.
