Rics appoints Maclean to SVP role Mortgage Finance Gazette

Nick Maclean has been elected the next Rics senior vice president (SVP).

From the beginning of January 2024 he will join the current president elect, Tina Paillet and current senior vice president, Justin Sullivan, to form the 2024 Presidential team.

Maclean, a fellow of RICS, has been chair and managing director of CBRE Middle East, North Africa region, for the past 19 years as well as serving as the Scottish government’s Trade & Investment Envoy to the United Arab Emirates.

He was also chair of trustees for the Lillian Sutton Bequest to the property industry’s ‘Story of Christmas’ charity.

Maclean is currently interim chair of the membership services committee at Rics,  a role he will step down from before assuming the Senior Vice President position.

As well as chairing the Levitt Report and serving as interim chair of Governing Council, he represented the Middle East & Africa region on council for three years. Maclean is also an APC counsellor and assessor.

On joining the RICS 2024 Presidential team he says: “I am looking forward to working alongside Tina and Justin to promote our profession’s work and positive impact across the communities we serve.

“I will be looking to harness this new platform to progress key priorities impacting members. This will include, amongst others, working with governments and stakeholders to influence policy, shaping a more inclusive profession, and ensuring a strong pipeline of future talent.”
