Lifetime mortgage lender Pure Retirement has appointed Leslie Baker to be its new chief technical officer.

Baker has almost 25 years’ experience in IT working across a number of industries, including the insurance and investment banking sectors. This experience covers warehousing and logistics, CAD and other intelligent design applications as well as  software development.

In this new role he will focus on expanding the lender’s technological capabilities while building a foundation on which to drive future business development.

This follows a period of expansion for Pure Retirement, with the lender appointing Eleanor Thornhill as its new chief financial officer last month.

Chief operating officer Simon Hayton says: “Technology is likely to be a key differentiator as the equity release sector continues to grow. As a company dedicated to using it to enhance the user journey for advisers and customers alike it’s fantastic to have someone of Baker’s calibre helping us to drive that side of the business.”
