Just Mortgages has appointed 50 new brokers to its self-employed team during the first three months of 2022.

The self-employed division has grown from 300 brokers in September last year to a total of 440.

The broker firm says it aims to reach its 500 broker target by the end of this year.

Just Mortgages self-employed division national director Carl Parker says: “With enhanced support packages for new starters, a new legal offering and increased remuneration levels, we will continue to attract some of the best talent around.”

“Every broker is supported by the training team that provides expert insights, area and regional directors who are on hand to help with day-to-day advice, and a marketing team who help the brokers to bring in new business,” Parker adds.

In March, Just Mortgages announced plans to almost treble its staff count in five years, with new hires planned across all divisions.

The company said it wanted to reach 1,500 staff by 2027 by increasing the number of workers in its employed and new build division to 425 (compared to 160 now), as well as upping the headcount in its self-employed division from 450 brokers to 1,000.

The move comes as the firm said it wanted to “become one of the largest mortgage broker firms in the UK”.
