The short-term lender says O’Brien will lead the underwriting team and help build on the firm’s ability to provide decisions at speed, as well as being able to structure complex cases. 

Veteran O’Brien joins from United Trust Bank where she worked for four years, leaving as bridging finance manager.  

Prior to this, in a career that spans over 30 years in retail and business banking, she worked for Allied Irish Bank for almost 19 years, leaving as senior relationship manager in 2019. 

Before that, O’Brien worked for NatWest for almost a decade, leaving as business banking relationship manager in 2000. 

Alternative Bridging Corporation director Stephen Meller says: “She [O’Brien] has exceptional banking experience and a long track record in building relationships both internally and externally.” 

O’Brien adds she plans to build on the firm’s “reputation to make even complex cases straightforward, its depth of property expertise and its innovative products”.
