The DuBois Pioneer Home located in Dubois Park in Jupiter is one of the last remaining historic homesteads of its type in northern Palm Beach County. The historic Jupiter landmark closed in 2008 and underwent extensive renovations and is opened to the public for tours to learn about Jupiter’s history and the DuBois family.  The home was built in 1898 by Harry DuBois, the son of Harry and Susan DuBois and Charlie Carlin, the oldest son of Captain Charles Carlin of the Jupiter Inlet Lifesaving Station. The home belonged to South Florida pioneers Harry and Susan DuBois and is a perfect example of the self-sufficient South Florida homestead with both archeological and historic value. The “house on the hill” was built on top of the Native American shell midden that was gathered by the DuBois Family. The ancient trade beads and pottery discovered were believed to have bene brought by explorer Ponce De Leon. The home is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and the home also is the second oldest home in Palm Beach County.  Today, the home is open to the public and available to tour on Tuesdays and Thursday from 10 am to 1 pm.
